Getting started
- Install Nitronet from Google Play.
- Open the app and tap Connect.
- Android shows its VPN permission dialog. Nitronet explains what it collects before you agree. Nothing is routed until you allow it.
- The status badge turns to Connected. That is the whole setup.
There is no account, no email verification, and no profile. The app creates a pseudonymous device key on first launch.
If it will not connect
- Check that the network allows VPN connections. Some hotel, campus, and office networks block them.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, then tap Connect again.
- Turn airplane mode on for five seconds and off, to reset the network stack.
- Disable battery optimisation for Nitronet if your phone aggressively suspends background apps.
- Update the app from Google Play. Connection fixes ship with app updates.
- Try Automatic location rather than a specific one.
If it still fails, email hello@nitronet.app with your phone model, Android version, app version, the network type, and what the app shows. Do not send private keys, tokens, or packet captures.
DNS, IP, and leaks
DNS is resolved through the tunnel, and all IP traffic is routed through it, so a lookup cannot escape on another address family. If the tunnel drops, the app fails closed where Android allows it.
Tethering, apps that bind to another network, rooted devices, and aggressive OEM battery optimisers can weaken leak protection. For the strongest setup, enable Android's always-on VPN and lockdown for Nitronet.
To verify, run a DNS-leak test while connected. You should see only the VPN resolver, and no IP address from your local network. Repeat the test after switching networks.
Ads and consent
The free plan shows one adaptive banner on the Home screen. There are no interstitials, no app-open ads, and no ads injected into your traffic. Nitronium subscribers see no ads.
Where the law requires it, the app asks for advertising consent through Google's User Messaging Platform. When a privacy settings entry is available for your region, it appears in the app and lets you change or withdraw that choice. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.
Subscriptions and billing
- Nitronium is purchased and billed by Google Play.
- To view, change, or cancel a plan, open Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Refunds and billing disputes follow Google Play's policies. We cannot issue Google Play refunds ourselves.
- If a purchase is not recognised, reopen the app while online so it can refresh the entitlement.
Privacy and data requests
Read the privacy requests page for how to access or delete your device record. There are no accounts, so there is no account-deletion flow. The Privacy Policy explains every field and retention period.
