Privacy requests

Your data, and how to remove it.

Nitronet has no accounts. This page explains exactly what you can do yourself, what we can erase for you, and what may remain for a short time afterwards.

This is not an account-deletion page. Nitronet has no accounts to delete. It is a data-rights path for a pseudonymous device identity.

There are no accounts

You never create a Nitronet account, and we do not hold your name, email address, or phone number unless you email us. Instead, the app generates a keypair on your device and registers the public half with a derived device ID.

Things you can do without contacting us

  • Reset your identity. In the app's Settings, resetting deletes your local keys and token. The next connection registers a new device identity. The old record can no longer be renewed.
  • Uninstall the app. This removes local data from your device.
  • Cancel Nitronium. Manage or cancel the subscription in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
  • Change ad consent. Where the law requires it, the app exposes a privacy settings entry that reopens Google's consent form. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.

Ask us to erase a device record

Email hello@nitronet.app from any address, with:

  • the device ID shown in the app's Settings;
  • the approximate date of your last connection;
  • the region or network you connected from, if you remember it.

We will delete the control-plane device row, revoke the token, and bump the revocation epoch so the identity cannot be renewed. Never send private keys, tokens, or packet captures. We do not need them and cannot protect them if they are exposed.

What happens to active leases

A VPN lease can still be active when you make the request. Erasure prevents renewal, but the existing lease expires under its normal schedule: 24 hours after release or expiry. In the worst case, a lease granted just before the request can take about 48 hours to disappear.

If you need the tunnel terminated immediately, disconnect or reset your identity in the app before or while sending the request.

What may remain afterwards

  • Security and audit logs: up to 30 days. These are retained to investigate abuse and secure the service.
  • Encrypted backups: up to 35 days, until they rotate out. We cannot surgically delete a single record from an encrypted backup.
  • Google AdMob and Google Play data: controlled by Google under its own retention rules. We cannot delete it on your behalf.
  • Support email: up to 24 months after the matter is resolved, unless a legal hold applies.

Access, correction, and portability

Email hello@nitronet.app to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to receive a portable copy of what you provided. Because the service is pseudonymous, our verification is limited: we may ask for the device ID, approximate connection dates, and the network region. We will not disclose more than the record that matches those details, and we will not use the request for marketing.

How long we take

We aim to respond within 30 days. If a lawful extension applies, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer. Complex requests may take longer, but we will keep you informed.

Regional rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent, and you may complain to your local data-protection authority. If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against. We do not sell personal information. Similar rights may apply in other US states.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In California, you may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue first.
